Welcome to our April Newsletter!
We hope you are starting to enjoy a bit more freedom after the latest lockdown and tentatively looking forward to something approaching normality.
Last month we highlighted the fact that we now have a Manifesto of Ideas covering 70 of the most transformative ideas out of the 400+ we have generated so far, and 25 Considered Proposals to underpin and explain the thinking behind these. So we think it is time to take stock and consider what the top issues are facing the UK in the long-term and where it is not evident that these issues are being addressed.
We’ll be doing some analysis of this over the next month and would welcome any inputs on what you see as the top outstanding issues for the future of our democracy. Just reply to this newsletter with any views.
Economic Recovery – The Budget, Taxation and Incentives
Last month we discussed the above topic and our output is now available at Economic Recovery – Budget, Taxation, Incentives
Open Information
Probably42 member Geoff Osborne has written an article ‘An Introductory Guide to Sources of Government Information’ which is available at Access to Government Information and is of interest to anyone who wants to find out what the Government is doing in areas that don’t often make the media.
We also continue our series to highlight some of the things going on in Government. Here is our latest selection:
Our April Discussion – Disaster Planning
Our discussion this month will be on the topic Disaster Planning. Based on our recent experience with the pandemic what sort of Disasters or major disruptions should we expect the Government to be planning for? Which do we think they are planning for and what might they have overlooked?
You can see our suggested Agenda at: Disaster Planning.
Do let us know if you would like to participate, or if you have any immediate thoughts on the topic, just reply to this email and we’ll input them into our discussions. Probably42 is all about making use of our joint Knowledge, Skills and Experience to come up with new ideas, so please don’t hold back.
Why not join a Group?
If you’d like to join one of the groups, just email in response to this newsletter and we’ll send you more details. We very much want a diversity of viewpoints, so you can be sure your views will be welcomed. Remember it’s about relaxed discussion and having an enjoyable time, with hopefully some useful ideas identified.
